Huub Meijers is Associate Professor of Economics at the economics department of the University Maastricht

He has a Bachelors degree in engineering, a Bachelor and Master degree in economics, and a PhD in economics. He has researched in a broad range of topics, both for commissioned work, mostly for the European Commission, as well as for journal publications. Amongst other these topics include the diffusion of new technologies at a macro-economic level, the impact of technology on the labour market, the impact of Information and Communication technologies on trade and growth, economic modelling in a Stock Flow Consistent framework with a focus on monetary policy. His main interest lies in Post-Keynesian Economics and Evolutionary Economics.

He is a researcher at MERIT since 1994 and he has a position as senior researcher since 1999. From 2000 until 2006 he was program leader of the e-society research unit of the International Institute of Infonomics. From 2000 he was coordinator of the Infonomics study programme (Bachelors and Masters) within the School of Business and Economics at the University Maastricht. From October 2016 he has been appointed as Associate Dean of education at the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University, followed by an appointment as Scientific Director of the Education Institute at that same University.

This book is based on the final report of a study carried out for carried out for the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) of the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission, on the Internationalisation of European ICT activities. UNU-MERIT researchers Theo Dunnewijk and Huub Meijers, have contributed a chapter on "Empirical Analysis of the Competitive Trade Position," while Rene Wintjes wrote the chapter "From Case Studies: International Division of Labour Within ICT Companies."
